Lane Lincoln Memorial CME Church celebrated its 144th anniversary Sunday.
On Feb. 13, 1867, the original deed between Jerome and Martha S. Smith sold the land to Lou Handley, Albert Woodson and J.W. French, Trustees of the “Colored” Methodist Church for the sum of $50. The location was at the northwest corner of Hodgenville where the small frame church was built.
