LaRue plays Barren County to a 3-3 draw

By The Staff

The Lady Hawks varsity soccer team is winless in the early going this season. The team has been hampered by a small roster and injuries.

The regular season began with a 10-0 loss to perennial power Bardstown. The team regrouped against district foe Bullitt Central but lost  2-0.

LCHS battled Barren County to a 3-3 draw – an improvement from last years’s 8-2 loss.

Despite having only nine players Saturday, LaRue took on Louisville Southern on Saturday. The Hawks lost 4-2.

Members of the team are seniors Holly Crain, Audrey Large, Amber Lyall and Meagan Williams;  juniors Britney Mack, Shelby Mouser and Justine Scroggins; sophomores Mariah Higdon, Nancy Howell and Megan Smith; freshmen Kayla Rutledge and Kasey Wells and eighth-graders are Marissa Crosswhite, Abby Modrowski, Sydney Price, Kelsey Rutledge and Tristyn Sales.

Details from girls' soccer action will appear in the Sept. 2 print edition of The LaRue County Herald News.
