LaRue County jumped out a 9-0 lead, but Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals fought back to a 16-16 halftime tie and downed the Lady Hawks 43-39 on Friday night.
LaRue County got six first-frame points from Lyndsay Whitlock, a three from Nancy Howell and three points from Shana Zajdel to lead 12-5, but the Lady Cardinals (12-11) used six second-period points from Elizabeth Thomas to knot the score at the intermission.
The lead changed hands five times in the third quarter with Hope Wigginton’s left-wing trey, giving Taylor County the lead for good at 26-24.
