The visiting Lady Dragons pounded out six extra-base hits en route to the May 4 win over 18th District foe LaRue County, 7-1.
Senior Valerie Whitlock and freshman Courtney Johnson each had a double for the Lady Hawks, who were held to five hits and didn’t score until the seventh inning.
Pitcher Brigette Skaggs allowed 11 hits, seven earned runs and one walk. She struck out two.

The homestanding Lady Raiders handed 18th District rival LaRue County its fifth straight loss, 6-4, on May 5.

The Lady Hawks played at home three times over the weekend, rolling by region rival Bardstown in six innings Friday afternoon, 10-0 before falling to Heath on Friday night, 4-2 and No. 4 Allen County-Scottsville on Saturday, 13-4.
Brigitte Skaggs struck out 13 as she no-hit the Lady Tigers.
Junior Ellen Huff drove in four and was a homer short of the cycle, while Skaggs had three hits and one RBI.
Junior Emily Dewitt added one single and two RBIs.
Against Heath, junior Valerie Whitlock’s RBI single in the third inning gave her a single-season school record 46th hit.
Skaggs doubled and scored, while eighth-grader Courtney Johnson scored and had an RBI double.
Against Allen County-Scottsville, Valerie Whitlock had two hits and scored twice and Lyndsay Whitlock singled and scored.
Eighth-grader Peyton Gardner added two hits and Huff singled and drove in one.
District tournament
The district tournament begins May 23 at Hart County.

Sophomore Kayla Skaggs struck out seven and the visiting Lady Hawks continued to swing hot bats April 19 as they had 12 hits to rout the Lady Colonels, 11-1.
Skaggs (3-4) scattered five hits, one walk and one earned run in seven innings.
Freshman Peyton Gardner was a home run shy of the cycle and had three RBIs and two runs, while Lyndsay Whitlock went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs, two stolen bases and an RBI. Valerie Whitlock went 3-for-5 two stolen bases and a run.
LARUE COUNTY 4, TAYLOR COUNTY 3.
Lyndsay Whitlock went 3-for-4 with a double, stole four bases, scored twice and drove in two as the Lady Hawks held on for a 4-3 win April 21 against the Lady Cardinals.
Freshman Courtney Johnson went 2-for-4 and drove in two, while senior Valerie Whitlock went 2-for-4, stole a base and scored.
Brigette Skaggs (6-3) struck out three, walked two and gave up seven hits, but limited Taylor County to one earned run.
ADAIR COUNTY 6, LARUE COUNTY 5.
The visiting Lady Indians scored the winning run in the top of the seventh and took advantage of five errors by the Lady Hawks April 28.
Gardner had a single, double and three RBIs, while senior Valerie Whitlock with 3-for-4.
Brigette Skaggs allowed eight hits, five earned runs and two walks in seven innings. She struck out four.
