Starting this school year, Kentucky has a new accountability assessment system.
The name of the former system, Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS) has been replaced with Unbridled Learning, College and Career for All. The previous test, Kentucky Core Content Test, is now K-PREP (Kentucky Performance Rating for Education Progress).
Senate Bill One, enacted in the 2009 Kentucky General Assembly, called for a new system of accountability to be in place by the 2011-12 school year.
