After 35 seasons, the Horse Cave Theatre and Kentucky Repertory Theatre is closing.
“We are sad to say that we will not be opening our doors for a 2013 season. Economic pressures have made it impossible to continue,” is a message on the theatre’s website.
The small (355 seats), professional theatre has staged 232 productions. The first production was “Candida” by George Bernard Shaw in 1977.
The 2012 programs are available at The Bookstore in downtown Horse Cave. The program has a history of the beginning of the theatre and of the educational program. Inside are historic photos, and on the cover is an image of the historic Vaudeville stage that is upstairs at the theatre.
