The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce is busy making plans for our annual Trick-or-Treat on Lincoln Square. This community event is a great opportunity for our community businesses or organizations. Your participation is the key to making this year’s event a success.
Trick-or-Treat on Lincoln Square provides the community with a safe place to bring children on Halloween. Local business and organizations are instrumental in the success of this event. All that is required is a willingness to hand out treats to the children visiting downtown. More than 1,600 children and their families participated in Trick-or-Treat on the Square last Halloween. Each year this number grows, so expect an even bigger crowd this year.
The City of Hodgenville will block off streets around Lincoln Square to give the children safe and easy access to all the stops. Volunteers from LaRue County High School are on hand to escort the children around the square.
Trick-or-Treat is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
Set up for tour stops is 5-6 p.m.
The costume contest will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. with registration starting at 5 p.m.
This year we have added a family/themed group category so those of us who are young at heart can have some fun. Pre-registration will be taken through 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.
Pre-registration application fee is $3 and $7 for the family/themed group category. The late application fee is $5 and $10 respectively.
Registration will be open until 5:30 p.m. Oct. 31. There will be no refunds. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber office and The LaRue County Herald News.
For more information about the event, call the Chamber office at 270-358-3411.
