Unemployment rates fell in 104 Kentucky counties between March 2011 and March 2012, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
In addition, 15 counties had a higher unemployment in March 2012 than in March 2011 while the unemployment rate in Clay County remained the same in March for both years.
LaRue County’s unemployment rate dropped from 9.1 percent last March to 8.3 percent. It dropped a full point from last month’s rate.
