Inmate charged with assault of deputy jailer

 A LaRue County Detention Center inmate is charged with assaulting two deputy jailers.

Clinton Keith Martin, 22, of Hustonville, is a state prisoner serving a sentence for fourth-degree assault, according to court records. He was booked into the LCDC on Dec. 20.

Martin allegedly began kicking his cell door on Jan. 22. When the deputies entered the cell to “make sure he wasn’t hurting himself,” Martin allegedly assaulted them.

He was charged with third-degree assault of a corrections officer. He pleaded not guilty in LaRue District Court. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 8.
