A Hodgenville man was shot and killed early Sunday by a Hodgenville City Officer.
Kentucky State Police was notified of the shooting about 2:05 a.m. and is leading the investigation.
According to KSP, two city officers attempted to serve arrest warrants on a man at 631 S. Lincoln Blvd. An altercation ensued.
"One officer attempted to deploy his Taser during the struggle but it was ineffective," said Trooper Jeff Gregory. "The subject then grabbed a rifle and was subsequently shot multiple times. He was immediately taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office."
KSP Sgt. Jeff Jenkins is handling the investigation. Neither Hodgenville officer was injured. The names of the individuals involved have been withheld pending notification of family members.
