Police are searching for red Ford pickup

A Hodgenville man was killed when gunfire broke out Tuesday afternoon following a traffic collision in Nelson County.

Donald C. Marshall, 47, of Hodgenville was found slumped in the driver's seat of a white Ford pickup truck around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday on Ky. 52 in the Nelsonville area. The Nelson County Sheriff's Department was investigating a  call about a motor vehicle collision involving possible gun fire,

The white truck was found behind a short guard rail on the side of the road against a line of trees bordering railroad tracks. The doors to the driver and passenger sides were open. According to a report from the Nelson County Coroner’s office, the cause of death has not been determined pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiners Office in Louisville.

A witness told police that he observed the white Ford being chased by a red Ford pickup truck and heard what he believed to be at least two gunshots.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Department is searching for an early model, red, extended cab Ford pickup truck with possible front end damage. Anyone with information regarding this is asked to call the department at 348-1870 or 348-3211.
