Hodgenville man charged with robbery at Lincoln General Store

 A Hodgenville man has been charged with a pair of robberies and leading a police chase.

George Matthew Byers, 25, of Greensburg Road, was charged over the weekend with second-degree robbery of Lincoln’s General Store, according to LaRue Deputy Robby Brownfield.

Brownfield said a man entered the store at 2784 Lincoln Farm Road about 9:40 p.m. Oct. 15. The female cashier on duty complied with his demand to open a cash register.

The man, who was wearing dark clothing, a toboggan and a bandanna, fled the scene after taking an undetermined amount of money.
