By The Staff

Hodgenville City Clerk MaDonna Hornback received the prestigious Certified Kentucky Municipal Clerk designation at the 31st Kentucky Municipal Clerk’s Institute in Georgetown in July. Hornback is the first city clerk from Hodgenville to obtain this certification.

She completed more than 120 hours of instruction over a three-year period through the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Institute, an International Institute of Municipal Clerks’ Accredited Certification Program. Instruction included subject areas of public administration, accounting, grant writing and other electives related to her profession.

Hornback was among 14 Kentucky City Clerks at the end of a three-year period who achieved the accomplishment in 2010.

The Institute is conducted annually by Skills Development Institute, a Division of Paul Combs & Associates, Inc. and is co-sponsored by the University of Kentucky’s Martin School of Public Policy and Administration and the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association.
