The Hodgenville Main Street/Renaissance Association plans to celebrate approval for the enlargement of Hodgenville’s commercial historic district in a ceremony today.

The luncheon begins at noon in the Lincoln Museum Community Room on the square.

According to a press release from the National Park Service, the boundary increase was approved Dec. 28. Properties included are north to Water Street, south to High Street, east to Greensburg Street and west to Walters Avenue.

The area expands 11 buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 to an eight-block area totaling 37 buildings including the post office.
