Lincoln Bicentennial coverage praised

The LaRue County Herald News received the media award for its Lincoln Bicentennial coverage at the 2009 Kentucky History Awards March 7 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History. Sponsored by the Kentucky Historical Society, the annual award ceremony recognizes outstanding achievements in Kentucky history.   

The Kentucky Historical Society program recognizes exceptional achievements by individuals, business and civic leaders, communities, museums, and history organizations throughout the commonwealth in the field of history.  Several projects and individuals that have demonstrated tremendous efforts to promote the preservation, awareness, and appreciation of state and local history were honored.  

Linda Ireland, editor of The LaRue County Herald News, accepted the media award from Stuart Sanders, community services administrator of the Kentucky Historical Society.
