February is American Heart Month. Our focus this month is turned to heart disease, the number 1 killer of men and women in America. With many factors weighing in on heart disease, one of the most prevalent risk factors is high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. One in three Americans has high blood pressure and it is the number one modifiable risk factor in preventing stroke. High blood pressure comes with no symptoms, which is why it may go undetected for some time.
