Hawks move to championship round in tourney

Season update shows three players average double figures

The homestanding Hawks (11-0) went 9-of-14 from beyond the 3-point arc in their first game in the National Guard Holiday Classic.

LaRue County also shot 58 percent from the field (30-of-52) and outscored Bullitt Central over the second and third quarters, 51-23.

Senior forward Tyler Hornback led the Hawks with 16 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists, while freshman guard Jordan Brewer chipped in with 12 points.

Senior guard Christian Seymour had 11 points and five assists and junior forward Bryan Bault added 11 points.

Defeat Trimble

Monday, the Hawks turned it on in the second half, outscoring the Trimble County Raiders by 21 to move into the finals of the tourney.

Bault led LaRue County with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Hornback had 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tyler Nall added 14 points, while Seymour scored 11.

Tournament concluded Tuesday

LaRue County played Central Hardin Tuesday night.

The Kentucky National Guard is the corporate sponsor for the tournament. Bluegrass Cellular and Comfort Inn of Elizabethtown also sponsor the event.

Season update

Three LaRue County players are averaging double figures in scoring this season as Bault is recording 13.9 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, Hornback is averaging 13.0 points and 5.8 rebounds and Seymour has 11.0 points per game.
