LaRue County’s special teams didn’t let the Hawks down Friday night.
After allowing a kick return for a touchdown in consecutive losses to Green County and Spencer County, the Hawks finally had a play go their way against visiting Nelson County.
Senior Cody Thompson returned a kickoff 93 yards for a score and added three rushing touchdowns to spark the Hawks to a 38-24 win over Nelson County, dropping the Cardinals to 0-5 for the first time since the team went 0-10 in Bill Mason’s final season in 2005.
