BOYS' VARSITY BASKETBALL
LaRue County avenged an earlier loss to Green County and earned the top spot in the 18th District standings.
The boys' varsity basketball team is 17-3 on the season following Friday night's 61-58 win in Greensburg. The Hawks' only loss in district play came Jan. 9 at home against Green County.
Next up for the Hawks is a Tuesday night game at Nelson County. The team makes another road trip Friday to Taylor County. The next scheduled home game is Saturday, Feb. 14, against Logan County.
GIRLS' VARSITY BASKETBALL
After two clutch wins earlier in the week, Coach Travis Wootton's Lady Hawks dropped a 58-43 decision Friday at Green County. The Lady Dragons are now 19-5 on the season compared to LaRue's 12-7 record.
LaRue edged Grayson County at home 63-61 on Monday and beat Glasgow by two, 43-41, on the road Thursday night.
The Lady Hawks have another busy week with four games scheduled. The girls play at home Monday night against Elizabethtown followed by Tuesday night road game at Warren Central. The Lady Hawks play at John Hardin next Thursday and join the boys for a Feb. 13 varsity doubleheader at Taylor County and will host Logan County on Saturday.
