Hardin County designated 'high trafficking area'

 The Office of National Drug Control Policy has designated neighboring Hardin County as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, which potentially could provide more funding and support to the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force.

The task force consists of 10 full-time and two part-time investigators and covers Hardin, Grayson, Nelson and Hart counties. It has agreements to work in LaRue and Breckinridge counties, Director Ron Eckart said. He estimated about 85 percent of its cases are in Hardin.
