The Hodgenville Elementary School Girl Power Club meets once a month 2:45-5 p.m. with the coordination of Hodgenville Family Resource Center and Expanded Food and Nutrition Assistant Program. The mission of this club is to have fun while building friendships, learning respect for others and promoting leadership and community spirit.
This club consists of 32 fourth- and fifth-grade girls. Each session consists of fun and educational activities like natural skin care, nutrition and fitness, hair care, cooking and manners and creating holiday center pieces for the HES cafeteria tables.
The club recently did a food drive to help replenish the Community Action food pantry and will be supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters program by collecting pledges and bowling for the Bowl for Kids’ Sake program March 14.
