The wheat disease Fusarium head blight or head scab is at significant levels in several wheat fields across LaRue County and the central part of the state.
The fungus that causes FHB attacks wheat near and in the flowering stage. It can be particularly severe during wet weather. The continued wet, cloudy conditions from May 10-12 provided excellent conditions for infection which resulted in disease development.
