Upton Fire Department is in the process of constructing a new building.

A fundraiser is being planned to provide new equipment for the building and the firefighters – and to benefit the Crusade for Children.

Megan Nunn is organizing the event which begins at noon Saturday at the Upton Community Center, 377 College St. She is the wife of Upton firefighter Ray Nunn Jr.

Part of the proceeds will purchase pagers, gear and office equipment, Nunn said.

A cornhole tournament begins at 1:30 p.m. with sign-ups at noon. There’s a $10 entry fee per person with the winning team pocketing half the fees.

A scavenger hunt begins at 7 p.m. with sign-ups at 6 p.m. Entry is $5 per person and cash prizes will be awarded.

A chili supper will be at 5 p.m. Cost is “donations only,” Nunn said.

Food booths will be available throughout the day. There will also be a silent auction, raffles, firefighter learning activities and children’s games including inflatables.

For more information, call Nunn at 734-3539.
