 Scrap Metal Fundraiser

Middle Creek and Ovesen Heights Baptist Churches are collecting scrap metal from appliances, farm equipment, junked vehicles or lawn mowers to raise funds for a Kenya mission team. Contact Bro. Merrill Kurtz for pickup at 502-536-3390.


B.R. Young breakfast

B.R. Young Lodge #132 will hold a breakfast fundraiser 8-10 a.m. March 1 at the lodge on Lincoln Square. Cost is $5, all-you-can-eat.  For more information, call 270-324-4223. Proceeds benefit building fund.


Magic fundraiser for Lions Club

Dinky Gowen, a LaRue County illusionist, will perform a family-friendly, fundraiser magic show to benefit the Hodgenville Lions Club at 7 p.m. March 1. The two-hour show will be held at the LaRue County High School auditorium. Tickets are $8. Free admission for ages 5-and-under.


SpringHaven concert

Jason Michael Carroll will present a benefit concert 7 p.m. March 1 at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown. Call 270-234-8258 to purchase tickets, which are $30 and $25. Proceeds benefit SpringHaven, Inc. domestic violence program.


Benefit for Underwood funeral expenses

An auction and chili supper fundraiser will begin at 3 p.m. March 2 at the American Legion Post 87, 636 S. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville to offset the funeral expenses for Thomas “Blue” Underwood. Meal is $8. Donations accepted. For more information, call Monica Underwood at 270-234-4930.


Benefit for Thompson family: date change

A chili supper, silent auction and cornhole tournament fundraiser will be held 5-9 p.m. March 8 at the LaRue County Park and Recreation Community Center. Proceeds will benefit the Rodney and Magen Baird Thompson family who lost their home to fire on Feb. 6. Empty Bowls

Warm Blessings “Empty Bowls” soup dinner and fundraiser will be 4-7 p.m. March 8. The soup kitchen is located at 609 E. Dixie Ave. with parking across the street at Caldwell Banker.

For a $15 donation those attending will receive a handmade bowl made by volunteers, to remind them that some people’s bowls are empty. Bowls handmade by community leaders will be part of the auction. For more information visit Facebook or www.warmblessingsinc.com.


RELAY FOR LIFE: Barbecue chicken and auction

First Baptist Hodgenville will host a barbecue chicken dinner and live auction beginning at 5 p.m. April 26. All proceeds benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
