New Hope fish fry
New Hope Fire Department will have a fish fry 4-8 p.m. April 4 and 11 at New Hope Ball Park. Cost is $7 plate or $3 for sandwich. Carry out or dine in.
Emma Wells benefit
A fundraiser to benefit Emma Wells, who has been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, will be April 12 at Linwood Community Center. Concessions and cake walk are 4-6 p.m. Auction is at 5 p.m. Central time. Meals include a pork sandwich, two sides, drink and dessert for $6; kids’ meals are hotdog, chips, drink and dessert for $4. Modern Woodsmen will match the first $2,500 raised. Proceeds will be used to offset medical and transportation expenses. Shrimp boil and fish fry for Addie
A shrimp boil/fish fry to benefit the family of Addie Roberts will be at 6 p.m. April 19 at Claudia’s Tea Room and the Thurman Phillips Guest House in Sonora. Addie is the 3-year-old daughter of Ben and Angela Roberts, formerly of Hodgenville, who is battling cancer. There will be music by the Blue Soul Gypsys and a live auction. Donations to be auctioned include a five-course meal by Tony York’s on Main, gourmet dinner for six and three overnight stays at the Thurman Phillips House, and four $100 gift certificates from Bridgett Blair Photography. Donations are welcome. RELAY FOR LIFE: Barbecue chicken and auction
First Baptist Hodgenville will host a barbecue chicken dinner and live auction beginning at 5 p.m. April 26. All proceeds benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

KSP raffles GMC truck
The Kentucky State Police Trooper Island raffle features a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE pickup. Tickets are $10 each. Contact any Kentucky State Trooper, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer or any of the 16 KSP posts located throughout the state. Only 20,000 tickets will be sold. The winning ticket will be drawn on Aug. 24 at the Kentucky State Fair. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the drawing to win. Raffle winner is responsible for all tax and license fees.
