Kentucky State Police Post 4 arrested Timothy Gibson Jr., 25, over the weekend.
Gibson had escaped from a half-way house in South Dakota, according to Trooper Norman Chaffins. He then stole a vehicle and fled to Illinois.
Gibson stole a Pontiac Grand Am in Illinois and drove it to his mother's residence on Shepherdsville Road in Hardin County.
After KSP located the vehicle, Gibson turned himself in a short time later.
He was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
