Thanks to a Wal-Mart donation, 86 people in LaRue County will receive new smoke detectors for their homes.
According to Chris Jackson with LaRue County’s Office of Emergency Management, the smoke detectors will be installed by the county’s fire departments. The volunteer firefighters will perform safety checks at the residence.
Those who are interested and in need of a residential smoke detector can call Jackson at 358-9903 to set up an appointment to have one installed.
