Film looks at boy's life in Civil War setting

By The Staff

The City of Hodgenville invites you to enjoy the adventurous story of a drummer boy during the Civil War. American Drummer Boy is a family movie filmed almost entirely in Kentucky and will be shown 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Hodgenville Civic Center, 200 S. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville.

At a time when our nation is commemorating the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, the drama and struggle of the Civil War hold special significance. Kentucky, a star in the flag of both the North and the South, saw countless stories of bravery and tragedy. Two of those stories serve as inspiration for the story of the American Drummer Boy.

The City of Hodgenville is offering this movie free of charge to the public.
