Fort Knox Federal Credit Union will build its first free-standing branch in Jefferson County at 9905 Dixie Highway in the Meijer’s Shopping Center complex. Construction will commence immediately with a tentatively scheduled opening by the end of 2012, Bill Rissel, Fort Knox Federal President and CEO, announced Friday at the Southwest Government Center.
The new branch will serve approximately 2,000 Fort Knox Federal members who live in Jefferson County. “Our goal is to provide a locally convenient branch to better meet the financial service needs of the significant number of our members who live in and near Valley Station and Pleasure Ridge Park,” Rissel added. Fort Knox Federal has about 76,000 members worldwide.
The new Valley Station area location will be the Credit Union’s 15th branch and offer a full range of personal and business financial services including free checking accounts; first and second mortgages; home equity lines of credit; auto and other vehicle loans; VISA Credit Cards; and money market accounts.
Design Build Concepts, Inc. from Atlanta, Ga. will manage the construction project and will utilize local subcontractors to keep much of the economic benefit of the project in the community.
