Cody Thompson put the LaRue County Hawks on his back Friday and carried them to a much-needed win.
Thompson accounted for more than 250 all-purpose yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the host Hawks to a 38-24 win over the Nelson County Cardinals at Hawk Field.
Thompson rushed for a game-high 150 yards and three scores on 27 carries and returned two kicks for 113 yards and another touchdown to help the Hawks (2-3) snap a two-game losing streak and extend the Cardinals’ skid to five.
