New high school creates need to reorganize

By The Staff

Local schools felt the ripple from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s decision to allow the new Martha Layne Collins High School to play a full varsity district schedule for 2010.

Collins is the product of the split of Shelby County High School. Shelby County, which competed as a Class 6A school last year, was moved along with Collins into Class 4A District 4, joining Bullitt East, Bullitt Central, Marion County and LaRue County. With two district games to add, some shuffling had to take place.
