Last week, two new flags – the American flag and P.O.W. flag – were cut down and taken from the pole outside American Legion Post 87 in Hodgenville. A section of rope was cut and left on the ground.
Long-time Legion member Tom Brett said the flags were valued at about $75. Total replacement cost will run about $125.
Volunteer firefighters used a ladder truck to hang the original flags. Brett said the Legion would need assistance from someone with a boom truck to hang the replacements.
