Teacher detected odor in girls' bathroom

By The Staff

Five female students were charged with public intoxication after admitting to smoking marijuana in a bathroom at LaRue County High School last week.

School Resource Officer Doug Sherrard said a teacher walked in the girls’ bathroom and caught a whiff of the telltale odor. School officials called parents and worked with Sherrard on the investigation.

No marijuana was found.

The five were transported to a juvenile detention center. Their cases will be handled in juvenile court.
