Magistrates get update from county road supervisor

By Ron Benningfield

Business at Tuesday’s meeting of LaRue Fiscal Court at the courthouse in Hodgenville dealt mainly with road-related matters.

Timmy Brown, county road department supervisor, reported crews have leveled and resealed Gunning Lane and L. Bell Road that were washed out during the flood.

The road department is also finishing widening R. Skaggs Road. Brown said they will double seal it soon.

“We’ve also mow-trimmed Wheeler and Parker Grove roads and mowing crews are in the Levelwoods area,” Brown told magistrates.

Although final approval has not been secured, LaRue County Judge-executive Tommy Turner told magistrates he feels confident that the bridge on Goodin-Williams Road near LaRue County Saddle Club and a culvert on Fork Road will be replaced either this fall or next spring.

Fiscal Court meets again 9 a.m. Aug. 24.
