LaRue Fiscal Court voted unanimously July 8 to contribute $500 for the construction of a Kentucky National Guard Memorial in Frankfort, an amount each county in the state has been asked to donate, LaRue County Judge/executive Tommy Turner said.

Magistrates also voted to contract for engineering services to repair sidewalks around the courthouse annex which Turner said are settling, and to revamp the parking lot.

“We already have money in place set aside for this,” he said. Durrett Engineering of Hodgenville was approved for the work.

Clyde Veirs, county road supervisor, reported crews cleaned ditches and spread rock in washed-out areas on Thompson Hill and Maxine roads; filled potholes on Jackson, Cantrell, George Lee, Enlow, and Harned McCubbins roads.
