FISCAL COURT: Ambulance service acquires power cots

 LaRue County emergency medical service has acquired two hydraulic/electric power cots that assist responders in transporting extremely heavy patients.

Mike Cottrell, county EMS director, explained to fiscal court members meeting at the courthouse in Hodgenville Dec. 18 that each cot, with only a touch of a button, can lift a person weighing up to 700 pounds.

“Not only does it make it easier to lift a patient, but also it can help prevent EMS personnel from injury suffered during lifting,” Cottrell told magistrates.
