Kentucky Alfalfa Conference
The 32nd annual Kentucky Alfalfa Conference will be Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Cave City Convention Center. The program begins at 9:30 a.m. Discussion topics include Roundup Ready varieties’ performance, marketing alfalfa, KDA testing program, seed coating, alfalfa in horse and beef diets and other topics. There will also be a trade show. A $15 registration fee, payable at the door, includes proceedings, refreshments and lunch.

Extension Council to meet
LaRue County Extension Council will meet noon Feb. 28 at the LaRue County Extension Office to discuss final details for the Extension Expo and upcoming program plans. Open to the public.

Conservation Reserve Program
Landowners and producers will have a four-week window beginning March 12 to enroll in the Conservation Reserve Program. Deadline is April 6. CRP is a voluntary program available to agricultural producers to help them use environmentally sensitive land for conservation benefits. Producers enrolled in CRP plant long-term, resource-conserving covers to improve the quality of water, control soil erosion and develop wildlife habitat.
