Extension District Board to meet
The LaRue County Extension District Board will meet noon, Jan. 4 at the Extension Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. Officer elections will be held. The meeting is open to the public.

Private pesticide applicator training
The Extension Office will conduct private pesticide applicator training 2 p.m. Jan. 4 and 10 a.m. Jan. 9 at the LaRue County Extension Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. The two-hour training is for farmers whose certification to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides has expired and for new producers who need the certification but have not been trained. The training session will qualify attendees as a certified private pesticide applicator until Dec. 31, 2015. Call the Extension Office at 358-3401 for more information.

Beef Cattle Association meeting
The LaRue County Beef Cattle Association will meet 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at the LaRue County Extension Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. Various items of Association business will be discussed. A meal will be served. All interested producers are invited. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 358-3401.

Ranking period ends for Conservation Stewardship
The ranking period cut-off date for the Conservation Stewardship Program is Jan. 13. Producers interested in CSP should submit applications to their local NRCS office by the deadline so that their applications can be considered during the first ranking period of 2012.
