Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council Field Day
The Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council Field Day will be Sept. 8 at UK’s Farm Research Center near Versailles. Tours start at 5:30 p.m. Topics include: Options When Cattle are Pulled Off Fescue in the Summer: Grazing Corn and Bermuda grass; Seedhead Suppression of Tall Fescue; Development of UK’s Own Novel Endophyte/Varieties: KYFA9301 and KYFA9821; and Warm Season Annual Grasses: Opportunities and Limitations. Beef Producers meet
The LaRue County Beef Producers will meet 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the LaRue County Extension Office. The educational program will be given by Kenny Burdine, UK Extension Livestock Economist. His topic will be beef marketing and outlook.  A meal will be served. All interested producers are invited to attend.

Bee Awareness Day
The Green River Beekeepers will hold Bee Awareness Day 3-7 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Taylor County Extension Office, 1143 S. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville. There will be apiary displays, sample honey products and refreshments. CAIP grant applications
Applications for the LaRue County Agricultural Investment Program administered by the LaRue County Beef Cattle Association, are available at the LaRue County Cooperative Extension Service Office, 807 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16. Dyan Puckett is project administrator.

Dead animal pickup
For dead animal pickup, call Bluegrass Recycling at 1-888-744-1186. The cost is $87.50 and the LaRue County Conservation District will reimburse the landowner 75 percent of the cost with receipt. For more information, call the Conservation District office at 358-3132.
