Burglars enter through back door

By Linda Ireland

Hodgenville City Police are investigating a break-in and burglary at Family Dollar Store in Lincoln Plaza.

Someone made entry through the back door early Sunday, according to Lt. Steve Johnson. The crime was discovered by an employee later that day.

“They knew where the safe was, broke in it and got the cash,” Johnson said.

Johnson described the break-in as a “professional job” as the perpetrator cut the phone lines so the alarm would not sound. The back door remained latched so patrolling officers did not notice anything wrong.
