An Elizabethtown woman was charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a single-vehicle crash Sunday, Jan. 22.
Jacquelyn Burckley, 43, was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry on Ky. 84 about 11 a.m. when she ran off the road and struck a mailbox, according to Deputy Matt Darst.
The vehicle came to rest in a yard at 976 Tanner Road.
Burckley was charged with DUI, first, aggravator, possession of open alcoholic beverage container; and no insurance.
According to Darst, Burckley’s blood alcohol reading was .327. The legal limit is .08.
“I had to take the operator to Hardin Memorial Hospital for medical clearance because her BA was so high,” Darst said.
LaRue County Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
Burckley was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center about 1:20 p.m.
She will be arraigned in LaRue District Court.
