Police have captured an inmate who escaped last May from the LaRue County Detention Center.
Jorge Ivan Vegan-Caban, 25, was arrested March 21 in Kenton County, according to court records. He was extradited to LaRue County March 25 and is lodged in the detention center under $25,000 cash bond. Caban told officers he had a job in construction in Kenton County.
No other information is available as of presstime.
At the time of his escape, Caban, a state inmate, was serving a three-year sentence in the LaRue County Jail after being found guilty of first-degree possession of controlled substance in Kenton County. He had been at the jail less than two months when he climbed over the fence. It was three days before employees noticed his absence.
Caban had already been granted parole and had only to attend a substance abuse program to be released.
He will be arraigned today in LaRue District Court.
