Eric Allen named new baseball coach

 Eric Allen has been named head baseball coach at LaRue County High School.

Allen, a 2000 graduate of LCHS, was a four-year letterman in the sport and ranks in the top three of most all-career hitting categories at the school.

He played also at John A. Logan College in Illinois. There, he was the 2001 Great Rivers Athletic Conference Freshman of the year, and named to the 2001 and 2002 All-Conference Team. 

He also spent a portion of his baseball career at the minor league level with the Southern Illinois Miners, San Angelo Colts and the Edinburg Coyotes.  

He began his coaching career in 2007 at John A. Logan College as a volunteer assistant. He spent two years at John Hardin as an assistant coach during the 2009-10 seasons. The last two years he assisted at LaRue County under now-retired head coach Chris Price.
