Providing the best academic instruction and tools is vital if a school wants to prepare students for their best opportunities for success after graduation.
Important as these things are, however, there’s more to success than academics. Other barriers exist that don’t deal directly with school subjects, including the need for referrals to health and social services; career exploration and development; summer and part-time job development (high school only); substance abuse education and counseling; and family crisis and mental health counseling.
