Elizabethtown Community and Technical College has a program that makes it easy to take high-quality, noncredit online courses. ECTC has partnered with ed2go, an online instruction center, to offer hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated courses and announces the launch of “Making Age an Asset in Your Job Search.”
Based on research and programs developed by AARP, this course is a guide for people over 50 who want to make a career change, find employment opportunities, or learn the strategies that will give them the best chance of getting hired.
“Making Age an Asset in Your Job Search” is part of ECTC’s catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses. Participants in these courses have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. The classroom can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection.
New sessions of each course run every month. They last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly. The courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments. A dedicated professional instructor facilitates every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback and facilitating discussions.
ECTC and AARP Kentucky will co-host special onsite orientations for those new to online learning. The orientations will take place the week prior to each session’s start.
