Sometimes earning one’s GED can be a big hill to climb – literally.
Josie Singleton, who is obtaining her General Education Diploma at LaRue County School’s Learning Center, knows firsthand the uphill battle.
Two days each week, the 21-year-old woman who has had spina bifida since birth and is confined to a wheelchair, eases into it and using only her arms, power rolls from her house on Maple Avenue about a half-mile to the learning center located in the district’s central office on College Street.
