Dr. Brockman to speak at annual Chamber of Commerce dinner

 The LaRue County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual awards banquet on May 9 at First Baptist Church Hodgenville, 730 Tonieville Road.

The theme for the dinner is “Celebrating Education.”

The guest speaker is E. Britt Brockman, M.D., a 1977 graduate of LaRue County High School.

The son of Russell and Sue Brockman, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and was the UK student government president in 1981-82. 

He received a Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Louisville. 

Brockman completed his four-year ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans where he served as chief resident for two years. He has practiced ophthalmology in Kentuckiana since 1992 and is the managing partner of John Kenyon American Eye Institute, which has 31 offices.

He is serving in his fifth year on the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees, where he has been chairman of the board for the last three years. 

He serves on the Heuser Hearing Institute Board and the Campbellsville University Advisory Board. In 2009 he dedicated the Brockman Center, Hodgenville campus of Campbellsville University in honor of his parents. 

He and his wife Paula have three children.

The dinner begins with social time and silent auction at 5:15 p.m. Dinner begins at 6 p.m.

Catering is by Paula’s Hot Biscuit of Hodgenville.

The cost to attend is $25 per person and $15 for ages 12 and under.
