John-Kenyon American Eye Institute’s managing partner Dr. Britt Brockman has been named to the Heuser Hearing Institute Board of Directors. The appointment is in affiliation with Dr. Brockman’s position on the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees.
The Heuser Hearing institute has an affiliation with the University of Kentucky and has added two spots on its board for UK representatives. Dr. Brockman, who is the chairman of the board at UK, joins fellow board member Bill Britton on the Heuser Board of Directors.
“It is a great honor to join this esteemed group,” said Dr. Brockman, a cataract and refractive specialist. “The Heuser Hearing Institute is a huge asset to our community and I look forward to becoming more involved with the organization.”
The Heuser Institute was established to provide comprehensive, in-depth services related to diagnosis/evaluation, intervention/rehabilitation, amplification and listening devices/other technology, medical services and research regarding hearing loss for adults and children.
Dr. Brockman is a graduate of LaRue County High School, the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Each year he drives more than 35,000 miles throughout Kentucky and Indiana delivering quality eye care to patients in areas outside of the Louisville metro area.
He maintains memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He also served on the Governors Health Care Advisory Board in 1994. In 2008, Dr. Brockman was appointed by Gov. Steve Beshear to the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees where he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board. He also served during Desert Shield in the 4010th US Army hospital in 1991.
