Deputy involved in fatal shooting

A reported reckless driver has died after being shot by a LaRue County deputy.

About 9:24 p.m. Friday, LaRue County Dispatch received a call regarding a reckless driver, according to Kentucky State Trooper Norman Chaffins.

Deputy James “Eric” Williamson responded, located the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop by engaging his emergency equipment. Chaffins said the driver, identified as Thomas E. Ferguson, 38, of Magnolia, ignored the deputy’s signal to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
