A Hornback Plumbing van suffered extensive damage when it struck a utility pole Dec. 31.
Richard Walker, 37, was driving the 2007 work van on Salem Lake Road when a deer ran into his path, according to LaRue County Deputy Russell McCoy. Walker swerved to avoid hitting the deer and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking the pole.
The pole was broken “about 10-feet-up,” said McCoy.
Walker and the deer were not injured.
